Biography

Hi everyone. We are The Yabbas, formally YabbaDabbaDoo!! We are a 4 piece indie/rock band consisting of James on lead guitar and vocals, Beef on rhythm guitar and vocals, Mart on bass and vocals, and Dave/Si on drums and everything bongo like!! Due to work commitments Dave and Si rotate every 2 weeks with us. We formed early 2008 from the ashes of various other bands. Since our first gig at last years Whitby Now we have gone from strength to strength playing regular gigs around town and attracting a following from all ages. We are a covers band and play a range of indie/rock songs from The Clash to the Stereophonics. We aren't one of those bands that just stand there and just play. We like to have a crack with the audience and basically take the piss out of people!!! We have recently started writing their own material and hope to showcase some at this years Whitby Now event.

We also do a lot to help the younger bands in the town by putting on gigs for them, and giving them the experience of playing with good equipment and in bigger venues. James from the band also helps in the running of Whitby Now continuing our work with the young bands.
